SAN MATEO COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT: PROBATE COURT MOVING TO THE CENTRAL BRANCH COURTHOUSE
The San Mateo County Superior Court’s probate courtroom is moving to the Central Branch Courthouse in San Mateo.
Effective July 22, 2024, the Honorable Leland Davis III, Probate Judge for the San Mateo County Superior Court, will preside over Courtroom G located at the Central Branch Courthouse. Probate ex parte matters will still be heard 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Monday – Friday. Notice will be provided on the court’s website should these hours change in the future. The Probate Clerk’s Office and Probate Court Investigators will remain at the Hall of Justice Courthouse in Redwood City.
Payment of all fees for general probate ex parte motions must be made prior to going into the courtroom. Payment in the form of a check may be submitted directly to the probate courtroom clerk at the Central Branch Courthouse. Other common probate fees, including case initiation fees, must still be paid at the Probate Clerk’s Office at the Hall of Justice Courthouse.
The court is currently developing alternative methods of payment, including paying by credit or debit card over the phone. The court is also actively working on a streamlined process for filing documents and obtaining certified copies of orders after probate ex parte matters are reviewed by the Probate Judge at the Central Branch Courthouse.
